Pumpkin Faced English Muffins

  • Servings : 2


  • 1 whole-wheat English muffin, split in half
  • 1⁄4 cup prepared pizza sauce. Or prepare to taste.
  • 1⁄3 cup grated reduced-fat mozzarella cheese (don't worry, the flavor comes form the sauce)
  • 1 slice fat-free American cheese


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2

Tip: You'll want to use a non-stick cookie sheet for this.

Step 3

Using a spoon, spread pizza sauce evenly over the two muffin halves making sure to fill all of those nooks and crannies.

Step 4

Sprinkle both muffin halves with the mozzarella cheese.

Step 5

Using a small paring knife, ( you may want to do this part yourself or supervise your kids doing it. My kids love doing this part ) cut 4 pumpkin-like triangle eyes and 2 smiling mouths out of the American cheese.

Step 6

Arrange eyes and mouths over the mozzarella cheese on each muffin half.

Step 7

Place both muffin halves on the cookie sheet being careful not to spill the contents.

Step 8

Bake in center of oven for 5 minutes or until mozzarella cheese melts.

Step 9

Now serve and enjoy with your children.

Step 10

Tip: You can easily double or triple this recipe based upon your children's needs.
